Financial Metrics
In its first two editions (2022 and 2023), SF(a) – Society. Film. Architecture was financed entirely from the organisers’ own resources, covering all costs related to workshops, materials, printing and promotion. Starting with Season 3 (2024), the project secured structured institutional support. The total budget of that edition amounted to 47,553 RON, of which approximately 87% came from the Architecture Stamp – Romanian Order of Architects, 10% from OAR Iași, and 3% from the organisers through the NGO ALT+A. More than half of the expenditure was directed to honoraria, accommodation and travel for invited speakers, while the rest covered printing and exhibitions, prizes for students, and basic logistics.
Season 4 (2025) confirmed this model, with a total budget of 53,636.60 RON. About 83% of the funding was ensured through the Architecture Stamp, 9% through OAR Iași, while ALT+A contributed 1,885.60 RON and the organisers added a further 2,500 RON from personal funds. Around 60% of the resources were allocated to guest lecturers and interdisciplinary content, 20% to printing and exhibition design, 15% to awards and student recognition, and the remainder to logistics and promotion.
Taken together, these figures demonstrate the project’s steady transition from being fully self-financed to relying on a mixed funding model that combines institutional trust, NGO engagement, and the personal commitment of its organisers. This transparent framework highlights both the professionalism and the sustainability of SF(a) as a cultural and educational platform.
