Film. Architecture<\/strong>\u00a0was held in\u00a0<strong>Ia\u0219i, June\u2013July 2023<\/strong>, continuing the transdisciplinary exploration of architecture through the lens of science-fiction cinema. After the inaugural edition in 2022, which established the workshop as an innovative space for collaborative learning, Season 2 expanded its scope and audience. The chosen film,\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Metropolis (Fritz Lang, 1927)<\/strong>, served as entry points for critical reflection on\u00a0<strong> Modernism<\/strong>, the major architectural paradigm that shaped the 20th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"724\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/sf-a.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/sf2_posters-724x1024.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-922\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sf-a.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/sf2_posters-724x1024.webp 724w, https:\/\/sf-a.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/sf2_posters-212x300.webp 212w, https:\/\/sf-a.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/sf2_posters-768x1086.webp 768w, https:\/\/sf-a.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/sf2_posters.webp 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 724px) 100vw, 724px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Locations &amp; Partners<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Activities were organised at the&nbsp;<strong>\u201cG.M. Cantacuzino\u201d Faculty of Architecture (TUIASI)<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>FABLAB Ia\u0219i<\/strong>, in partnership with the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design (UNAGE), ASAI \u2013 the Student Association of Architects in Ia\u0219i, and OAR Ia\u0219i.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participants<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Season 2 registered a significant growth in participation compared to the first edition:&nbsp;<strong>65 students and graduates<\/strong>&nbsp;from architecture, visual arts and design, and literature, together with young architects in training. I. Cuza\u201d University of Ia\u0219i;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Matei Bejenaru<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 artist and professor, Faculty of Visual Arts and Design, UNAGE Ia\u0219i;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vlad Enculescu<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 internationally active designer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exhibition &amp; Results<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The creative workshops resulted in a series of&nbsp;<strong>alternative posters<\/strong>, exhibited both at the Faculty of Architecture and later at FABLAB Ia\u0219i in an itinerant format. Results were presented in&nbsp;<strong>international conferences<\/strong>(UN-DISCIPLINARY, Aalborg; QUESTIONS, Cluj),&nbsp;<strong>round-tables<\/strong>&nbsp;(InterdisciplinARH, Ia\u0219i), and&nbsp;<strong>exhibitions<\/strong>&nbsp;(MUST \u2013 Architects in the Community, Ia\u0219i; InterdisciplinARH, Ia\u0219i). The itinerant exhibition of Season 2 posters was also showcased in August 2023 at FABLAB Ia\u0219i.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Core Vision<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Season 2 questioned how architecture reflects and constructs collective futures: the utopian promises of Modernism.
